Largo FLorida Celebrates Green Halloween in Spooktacular Way in Largo Park

Happy Halloween from the Haydons!

 

The City of Largo Florida hosts the Largo Spooktacular each year in Largo Central Park.

 This event is well attended by families from Clearwater, Seminole, Largo and all over Pinellas County – they estimate over 30,000 people stroll through Largo park in the 5 hours the event takes place.

So with 30,000 people - that = lots of trash. The City Largo promoted a Green Halloween with lots of opprtunities to recycle as seen below. 

In honor of Halloween, I thought I would share some of the photos and fun we had this past Saturday.

My youngest loved this slide at this year’s Largo Spooktacular and must have gone down it 20 times while my older son worked the Carn”evil” Haunted House with the older Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from Pack 455. Does anyone but me remember sliding down hills as a kid on cardboard – oh the simple pleasures!

While we all had fun, the City of Largo had a booth and several reminders to Recycle
 – showing once again that it is easy to Live Green in Largo. Check out the handy portable
trash bins to facilitate recycling throughout the park for this event

Cyndee - this looks like SO MUCH FUN!!  Largo has it "together" and how wonderful to have Alex working the carn"evil" with his cubscout pack.  I love how Largo had the recycle bins around the event as well. This was a great example for the kids and families attending!
